Sierra Leone ordered a nationwide curfew in response to security concerns. On Sunday morning, a security incident at an army barracks prompted the government of Sierra Leone to declare a statewide curfew.
The military arsenal at Wilberforce Barracks was the target of an attempted break-in early on Sunday morning, according to a notification published by the Ministry of Information and Civic Education.
The notification stated that the government and state security forces are in charge and that “they have all been rebuffed.”
The notification stated that people are “strongly” encouraged to remain indoors so that the security forces can continue their efforts to capture the culprits.
