Qatar is to announce a cease-fire agreement. A Hamas official stated on Tuesday that an announcement regarding a ceasefire with Israel will be made in the next few hours in Qatar.
“We are close to reaching an agreement in the coming hours, and the movement has delivered its response to the mediators,” the official, who wished to remain anonymous.
According to a second source close to Hamas, the agreement will be made public in Qatar at some point and its success will depend on how committed the Israeli side is.
According to the sources, Israel will release 300 Palestinian detainees, including women and children, in exchange for the release of 50 civilians and foreign nationals held by Hamas during the five-day ceasefire agreement.
As part of the agreement, 300 trucks carrying food, medicine, and fuel will be allowed to enter the Gaza Strip.
According to the sources, the prisoners will be released gradually, with 10 Israeli prisoners and 30 Palestinian prisoners released each day.
