Background

An investigation into the leaked audio that featured some important people calling for the removal of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare is currently being conducted by a seven-member parliamentary committee.

They include Superintendent (Retired) and Ms. Ophelia Mensah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfantsiman Constituency who left the police force in 2020 to work as a Chief Inspector with the Interpol Unit. The committee’s trained officers include Peter Lanchene Toobu, a former executive secretary to Inspector General of Police David Asante Apeatu and current Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa West.
