Dead body discovered floating in Atimpoku’s Volta Lake. In the Asuogyaman district of the Eastern region, at Battorline, a suburb of Atimpoku, a dead body of an unidentified man has been discovered floating on Volta Lake.

The fisherman who was at the lakeside to fix his net made a distress call at around twelve in the morning, reporting to Mr. George Mireku Asiamah, Operations Officer for NADMO at Asuogyaman, that he saw someone trying to enter the lake as if to commit suicide.

Just as I was fixing my net, I noticed a man entering the river when I turned on my torchlight. He was going deeper into the water the more I tried to figure out why he was doing it.

According to Mr. Asiamah, the body was spotted floating on the water and announcements were made in the neighborhood early in the morning.

After obtaining a coroner’s form from the Senchi Magistrate Court, the NADMO, the Environmental Health Department, and the Police buried the body.
