Bullgod: Burna Boy is a blatant sellout for his remarks on Afrobeats. Ghanaian entertainment critic Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, often known as Bullgod, has been harshly critical of Nigerian artist Burna Boy.
Burna Boy was called a sellout and a shame by Shatta Wale’s former manager in a social media post seen by Amansan Krakye of MyNewsGh.com.
This comes after Burna Boy recently claimed in an interview that the mostly promoted by Nigerian artists music genre known as Afrobeats has no meaning and no substance.
His contentious admission has generated a range of views and attitudes, with some supporting his position and others perplexed by his claims.
“It’s always one of us that sells us out, it’s always one of us that talks down on us, it’s always one of us that looks down on us,” wrote Bullgod, also known as BullDog, in a post.
The enemy within, he added, is Africa’s worst nightmare, and he cited an African proverb that goes, “If there is no enemy within, the enemy outside cannot harm us.”
You Burna Boy, shame on you, he said.
